MICROVISION-PICO PROJECTORS'S

Microvision in Redmond, WA
Microvision is a world leader in the innovation of a new generation of
display and imaging products for mobile applications.
Better Viewing Experiences from Mobile Devices

Microvision is working with business partners to enable better viewing experiences for users of mobile devices. Sharing photos, watching movies, and giving presentations using the small screens of today's devices limits our ability to imagine, entertain, and share.

Microvision is the number one choice for OEMs who wish to breakthrough through the display bottleneck and provide customers with new viewing experiences. From embedded projectors that sit inside a handset to accessory projectors that connect to mobile devices, Microvision' s PicoP display engine offers OEM customers the ability to design next generation mobile devices that delight customers while creating new business opportunities.

Unlock the Big Screen Experience from Small Devices

Microvision is working with business partners to enable better viewing experiences for mobile device consumers. Sharing photos, watching movies, and giving presentations using the small screens of today's devices limits our ability to imagine, entertain, and share.

PicoP is an ultra miniature projection module capable of producing full color, high-resolution images but small enough and low power enough to be embedded directly into mobile devices such as cell phones, portable media players, digital cameras, portable computers and more.

For manufacturers who wish to bring to market next generation mobile devices, Microvision provides a PicoP display engine that can meet your exacting OEM requirements. PicoP display engines are engineered for OEMs and made available through our supply chain partners to meet high volume production needs.

Mobile Device with PicoP display engine

Mobile devices such as cell phones, portable media players, digital cameras, and laptops can be enabled with pico projection capabilities turning photos, videos, and other content into big viewing experiences that can be shared with others. Embedded pico projectors leverage Microvision' s PicoP display engine which at its heart, contains Microvision' s patented MEMS scanner. Other technology components include, laser light sources, optics, and electronics. These components are brought to life using Microvision' s proprietary software and expertise.

Micro-Electro- Mechanical System (MEMS) Scanning Mirror

Microvision' s MEMS scanning mirror is a silicon device at the center of which is a tiny mirror. This mirror is connected to small flextures allowing it to oscillate. The 2D MEMS scanner oscillates vertically and horizontally to capture (imaging) or reproduce (display) an image pixel-by-pixel. 2D MEMS scanners are used in the PicoP display engine that powers Wearable Displays, Vehicle Displays and Pico Projector Displays. A 1D MEMS scanner,
as used in the ROV Scanner, oscillates along one axis only and is used to capture a bar code image.
